DA5 Partners with Ayannah to Join Sendah Remit Network

Leading Western Union authorized agent DA5 partners with leading fintech Ayannah to join Sendah Remit to enable inter-operable international and domestic remittance transactions across multiple networks. DA5 is one of Western Union’s largest authorized agents in the Philippines with over 2,200 outlets. DA5 processed over USD500M in Western Union transactions in 2020.  Ayannah is a leading fintech company providing technology solutions to make financial services such as remittances, loans, insurance and investments more affordable and accessible in the Philippines and Indonesia.  The DA5-Ayannah Sendah Remit partnership will allow DA5 customers to transact with close to 10,000 outlets in Ayannah’s growing Sendah Remit network. Likewise, customers of other Sendah Remit partners can transact in any of DA5’s branches.

“We are excited to join Ayannah’s Sendah Remit network.  Our partnership will make it easier and cheaper for our customers to send or receive remittances anywhere in the Philippines.” says Ray Babst, DA5 President.

“DA5 is an established player in the Philippine international remittance industry.   We are happy to work with them to provide a better user experience for both our customers.  We also look forward to more initiatives not just in the Philippines but also in the region.” adds Richard Alikpala, Ayannah Philippines President.

According to a Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) study dated December 2019, one in three Filipino adults send or receive over 120 million domestic money remittances monthly generating an annual domestic money remittance volume of over P2 trillion - over 80% of which is still done over the counter. The World Bank also reported in May 2021 that remittance flows have remained strong during the COVID-19 crisis. The COVID pandemic has made it urgent and necessary to provide services such as Sendah Remit to give migrants and their beneficiaries more options to send and receive money in an affordable, convenient and safe manner.
